Are you a K-12 teacher that would really like to know more about the agriculture industry, but don’t quite know where to go for help?
The Colorado Foundation for Agriculture is offering three options for the “Food, Fiber, and More Summer Agriculture Institute” this summer! The “Summer Ag Institute” is a five-day course designed for K-12 teachers who have little to no agriculture background. The purpose of this class to assist educators in understanding the agriculture industry and its connection to our environment and society. The class will provide a variety of methods for using agriculture materials in the classroom, and assist educators in developing curriculum ideas which integrate an understanding of agriculture in various academic subjects. Teachers will have a chance to learn from many of the leaders in Colorado agriculture, plus gain hands on experience while on tours of local farms and ranches.
Housing (if necessary) and some meals are provided. Participating teachers can receive 3 continuing education credits. The three date and location options are as follows:
June 12-16 – Rifle, CO
June 19-23 – Fort Collins, CO
June 26-30 – Denver, CO
